IPITA offers a number of merit-based awards to recognize Trainees, Young Investigators and Allied Health Professionals who submit and present superior abstracts at the Congress. By recognizing excellence, IPITA’s main objective is to encourage the development of critical storytelling and presentation skills essential for a career as a clinical investigator and scientific communicator.

Eligibility

Trainees

Trainees are defined as individuals enrolled in pre- or postdoctoral training programs relevant to the science and clinical practice of organ, cell and tissue transplantation.

Young Investigators

Young Investigators are defined as physicians, surgeons, or scientists in the early stages of their career in science and clinical practice of organ, cell and tissue transplantation. This includes individuals who are within ten years (maximum) of becoming a consultant/post-doc and those who have held a faculty position for a maximum of 5 years.

Allied Health Professionals

Allied Health Professionals include individuals who have an interest in islet and pancreas transplantation and are actively working in this field. Their status must be confirmed by their professional association card. This membership category could include: nurses, coordinators and physician assistants but is not restricted to these positions.

Only individuals with an accepted abstract who are the presenting authors will be eligible for an award.

It is not mandatory to be an IPITA Member to be considered; however, awardees are strongly encouraged to become active members of the Association and participate in the activities of the IPITA Young Investigator Committee.
